Eleanor Ann Kramer

Picture
Eleanor's bright, observational, and diverse body of work continues to develop as her connection to the Tasmanian landscape deepens.
Eleanor is a Tasmanian fine art painter and jeweller living and working in the Huon Valley.

Her love of art, culture, and landscape was informed early in her life by the years spent living abroad with her family. Her formal
foundation in fine art began at Bethel University in Minnesota, where she studied painting, sculpture, and humanities. During those four years, she won multiple awards for her dedication in the studio.

In 2022, Eleanor immigrated to Tasmania. In the midst of life-changing transitioning she remained committed in the development of her creative practice. She built connections with galleries around Tasmania and Australia, exhibiting both paintings and jewellery. Her artwork has been awarded in local and international competitions. In 2025 she was a selected finalist in the Henry Jones art prize.

Through vibrant, playful work, I aim to highlight and celebrate small moments in nature that may otherwise be missed. Frequent walks through Tasmania’s bush feeds my inspiration as I curate (mentally and physically) collections of colours, textures and forms to use in my plein air and studio work. My emerging practice is always evolving as I absorb and collaborate with the shifting landscape. Informed by crosscultural experiences and a passion for the natural world, art has been and remains an essential point of connection between myself, the landscape, and the community of people I live among.
